Definition:

Comparison of Adjective or Degree of Comparison means the comparison of good or bad quality & condition of noun or pronoun.

Comparison of adjective is of three kinds. As for example:
 i)Positive Degree is the simplest form of adjective. It has no comparison between persons or things just it expresses the quality of noun and pronoun: He is good. He is not bad. You are poor but honest. This is very big. Here they have no comparison but they express only quality in normal way. So they are Positive Degree.

ii) Comparative Degree is the form used when a comparison is made between two persons or things.

Example: She is taller than you. This is more beautiful than that.

iii) Superlative Degree is the form used when a comparison is made among more than two things, or set of things. He is the richest man in this town. She is the most beautiful of all girls.

                      How to Change Superlative to Positive 

  

      Step# 1.  If there is no 'one of the' sign in the superlative sentence, the superlative can be changed into positive in this way:

 No other + the rest part from superlative form + Verb + as/so + positive form of degree + as + subject. As for example:

Superlative Degree: He is the best boy in the class.
Positive Degree: No other boy in the class is as good as he.
(Here 'boy in the class' is the rest part from the superlative form of degree)

Superlative Degree: She is the most beautiful girl.
Positive Degree: No other girl is as beautiful as she.

Step# 2. If there is the sign 'one of the' in the superlative degree, the superlative can be changed into positive in this way:
Very few + the rest part from the superlative form of degree + verb + as/ so + positive form of degree + as + subject.
Example:
Superlative: Gold is one of the precious metals
Positive: Very few metals are as precious as gold.
Superlative: He is one of the richest persons in this town.
Positive: Very few persons in this town are as rich as he.

Step# 3. If the sign 'of all' includes in the superlative degree, we can do in this following way:

No other + the rest part from 'all' + verb + as/ so + positive degree + subject.
(After 'no other' the noun is always singular.)

Example:
Superlative: He is the tallest of all boys.
Positive: No other boy is as tall as he.

Superlative: She is the most beautiful of all girls.
