In modern Grammar Verbs are divided in two main classes according to the functions of verbs. As for example: 1. State Verb is the verbs that indicate the continuity of a work but not the beginning or end of that work such as: I know her. The rose smells sweet. This book belongs to me.
Actually state verb is used only in non-progressive form.
2. Action Verb or Even Verb is the verbs mentioning the definite beginning or end of a work. Action Verb is used in both progressive

Again Verbs are divided in two main classes.Such as:
1. Finite Verbs are the verbs that complete the discussion of a sentence & their forms are changeable according to the number, person & tense.
Example: He speaks English. She is singing a song. I have eaten a mango.
2.. Non-Finite Verbs are the opposite of finite verbs. That is why, non-finite verbs are the verbs that don’t complete the discussion of a sentence & their forms are not changeable according to the number, person & tense.
Example: She wants to eat a banana. He likes to sing a song. I am fond of taking tea.
Example: She wants to eat a banana. He likes to sing a song. I am fond of taking tea.
** On the basis of its own meaning, finite verbs are of two kinds. Such as:
i) Principal Verb is a verb when it expresses its meaning without the help of another verb. He is a boy. She cooks food. I have a book.
ii) Auxiliary Verb or Helping Verb is a verb when it is used only to help some other verbs to form voices, moods and tenses. Example: I am doing the work. I havefinished my work.
***Again Principal Verbs can be of two kinds such as:
A) Transitive Verbs are the verbs that can't express itself completely without the help of other words. Example: He has eaten rice. I see a bird in the sky. I write a letter.
Transitive Verbs are divided into several classes.

iv) Reciprocal Verb is a transitive verb used to express mutual action and reaction between the subject and the object. The two sisters love each other. The students in this class help one another for any problem.
B) Intransitive Verbs are the verbs that don't need another word to complete their sense. Example: Birds fly in the sky.
