Sentence Analysis on Tree Plantation

 This kind of Sentence Analysis will help you understand the English language easily and through this analysis you can go depth into the language. 



Sentence-1. Trees are useful to man in three very important ways.

   a)The word 'Tree' is a noun. Tree is singular and trees plural. Here Trees are used as                               subject.
   b) 'useful' is an adjective. Generally if 'ful' is used at the end of any word, that word can be called            adjective. Example: help(word)+ful= helpful is an adjective.
   c)  'Be Verb'( am, is, are, was, were) is used before adjective. Example: are useful.
   d) By 'to + noun' direction means. Example: to man
   e) By 'in + noun/ noun phrase' position means: in three very important ways.
   f) adverb is used before adjective and adjective before noun and after all, number ( three, four, five         etc.) before noun phrase( very important ways)
Structure: Subject +  be verb + adjective + preposition + noun + preposition + noun phrase( group of words indicating noun but having no verb).



Sentence-2. They provide him with wood and other products.

Analysis-2.
 a) 'They' is a pronoun of trees. 'They' is used as subject.
 b) provide is a transitive verb. why is 'provide' transitive? It is because 'Provide' verb bears an object (him)
c) 'with' is a preposition. 'with' means 'having'
d) after 'other' noun is always plural. Example: other products

Structure: Subject + verb( transitive) + object + preposition + noun and noun/ noun phrases 

 Sentence-3.  They gave him shade; and they help to prevent drought and floods.

 Analysis-3.
a)      Here ‘They’ is subject; ‘gave’ transitive verb; ‘him’ indirect object and ‘shade’ direct                           object.
b)   ; ‘ is a semi-colon. After one sentence if we want to use another sentence with this,
 we will use’;’ before another sentence. See the above line
c)   After ‘help’ if we want to use another ‘verb’,  ‘to’ is to be used between the both verbs.                      ‘To + prevent’  is infinitive( ‘to + verb’ is called ‘infinitive’)
 d)  Generally we will use conjunction  ‘and’ between two nouns( drought and floods),                               between two verbs and even two sentences.
Sentence-4. Trees bear a great impact on the climate.
Analysis-4.
 a)Trees = subject, bear= transitive verb, great= adjective, impact= noun, on= preposition, climate = noun.
b) after ‘great’ we will use ‘noun’ not others.
 As for example:
great foolish = incorrect

Great fool= correct
c) Article; a/an is used before 'adjective+noun'. Example: a great impact. 


Sentence-5. If we destroy trees at random, our country will turn into desert.



Analysis-5. You use 'if'' at the conditional sentences.  (a)If (present tense), subject+shall/will+ main verb+ extension. This is called the first conditional. The above sentence is its example.
(b)If(past  indefinite tense), subject+ would + main verb. Example: If you worked hard, you would succeed in life. This is 2nd conditional.
(c) If(past perfect), subject + would have/ could have/ might have + the past participle of main verb + ext. Example- If you had gone there, you could have met him.

Sentence-6. Trees are things of beauty too. 

Analysis-6. a) Here 'of ' is used between the two nouns  and 'too' is an adverb that is used at the end of the sentence.


Sentence-7. We can take care of tree by not cutting cutting them.

Analysis-7.(a) 'Can' is a modal. After 'modal' you will use 'main verb'.
(b) After 'by'  you will use 'verb+ing). See the above sentence.

Sentence-8. We should plant trees more and more for a better, happier and healthier life.
Analysis-8. 'Should' is a modal. After 'should' you will use 'main verb' like 'can'. Here 'more and more' is an adverb.
